Atasanayi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EMRE the free kick. A collision led to Atasanayi getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Raşit Pekalp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kayhan Özerdinc, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. With a little luck, Atasanayi's Hilmi Can got control of the ball when Paşa Çidam tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 47 minutes, Kayhan Özerdinc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atasanayi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kayhan Özerdinc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Nazil Sırat was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Atasanayi's Nazil Sırat got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Atasanayi had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
