The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Günay Rakim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Rize's Talha Mahmut got a free kick in the 9th minute. If Ali Çağrı Yaşam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cagaloglu JK's Arif Memduh Sefer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cevahir Çağar in the 17th minute of play. After 19 minutes Cagaloglu JK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Orhun Cansoy who took care of the corner kick. In the 26th minute, Ender Bera made a precise shot to the right of Arif Memduh Sefer. Cagaloglu JK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The supporters of Cagaloglu JK booed when Rize was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Talha Mahmut didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Kutluay Dolunay sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Rize's Hüsnü Altuncuoğlu didn't even have to move. Hüsnü Altuncuoğlu came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Cagaloglu JK's Günay Rakim. But to his dismay, Günay Rakim quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ender Bera made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Cagaloglu JK's zone, Ali Çağrı Yaşam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arif Memduh Sefer came out of the goal and Ali Çağrı Yaşam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cagaloglu JK's goalkeeper Arif Memduh Sefer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, Cagaloglu JK's goalkeeper Arif Memduh Sefer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cevahir Çağar. Hatemi İlsu kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the game, Rize's Cevahir Çağar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arif Memduh Sefer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Fatih İlbeyi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cevahir Çağar in the 66thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Arif Memduh Sefer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 68 minutes into the match, Cagaloglu JK's goal looked a bit too open when Ender Bera came free, but Arif Memduh Sefer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hüsnü Altuncuoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fatih İlbeyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cevahir Çağar got free with Arif Memduh Sefer in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Rize's Ender Bera in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cagaloglu JK's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Rize booed when Cagaloglu JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehmet Bedri Akabe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Cevahir Çağar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rize's supporters rose to their feet, but Cevahir Çağar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arif Memduh Sefer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Cagaloglu JK's zone, Ender Bera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arif Memduh Sefer came out of the goal and Ender Bera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cevahir Çağar got free with Arif Memduh Sefer in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arif Memduh Sefer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ender Bera in the 96th minute of the match. The Cagaloglu JK supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rize's performance. The match ended with a win for Rize.
