The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aygün Secavend sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Selçuk Uçanay in the 9th minute of play forced Üzümlü SK's goalkeeper Gürsel Ege to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aygün Secavend recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ali Orhan Visali kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. When Ali Güralp Oğuztan fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gaziantep's protests and gave Ali Güralp Oğuztan a yellow card for diving instead. Mümtaz Doğanhan might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fikri Dede. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mümtaz Doğanhan ran back to his position shaking his head. Gaziantep's Fikri Dede played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Akın Ekabir in the 24th minute of play. Mümtaz Doğanhan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fikri Dede read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute Akın Ekabir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fikri Dede saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mümtaz Doğanhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Fikri Dede tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 42 minutes, Selçuk Uçanay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gaziantep's supporters crossed their fingers, but Selçuk Uçanay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Selçuk Uçanay to make the kick off. Mahsun Sabih hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 54thth minute of the game Aygün Secavend who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Üzümlü SK's Gürsel Ege was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Üzümlü SK's zone, Selçuk Uçanay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gürsel Ege came out of the goal and Selçuk Uçanay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fikri Dede took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Akın Ekabir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aygün Secavend fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gürsel Ege having to interfere. After some careless play in the Üzümlü SK defense, Aygün Secavend kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gürsel Ege. The Üzümlü SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gürsel Ege should have stopped the shot. Fikri Dede made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Mümtaz Doğanhan sent off a good shot on target. Aygün Secavend blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gürsel Ege having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Akın Ekabir in the 78th minute of play forced Gaziantep's goalkeeper Fikri Dede to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Selçuk Uçanay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aygün Secavend sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 93 minutes, Aygün Secavend managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gaziantep's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aygün Secavend was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Coşkun Taçyıldız was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Üzümlü SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gaziantep the free kick. Üzümlü SK succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Gaziantep had controlled the match.
