Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the game, Celal Barçın was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GÖZTEPE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ulus the free kick. Celal Barçın hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Özden Hicran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cenap Uğur in the 7th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Can Sami notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of GÖZTEPE's Batı Orkun. Batı Orkun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 14 minutes into the match, GÖZTEPE's goal looked a bit too open when Enginalp Kırca came free, but Batı Orkun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Enginalp Kırca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Enginalp Kırca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cahit Tülek's late challenge caught a Ulus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cahit Tülek helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th minute, Cahit Tülek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Özden Hicran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bahattin Kutlubay in the 22nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bahattin Kutlubay in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Özden Hicran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. GÖZTEPE's Bahattin Kutlubay got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cenap Uğur might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Özden Hicran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cenap Uğur ran back to his position shaking his head. Bumin Aral charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bumin Aral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 40th match minute, Ulus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bumin Aral to maneuver through the defense. After 43 played minutes Ulus got a freekick which was hit by Aytuğ Zeren. Özden Hicran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cenap Uğur, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Özden Hicran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cenap Uğur in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

If Enginalp Kırca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Cenap Uğur fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Can Sami received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Batı Orkun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bumin Aral hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. A hard and well directed shot from Soner Böke led 68 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Ulus's Özden Hicran became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 2-1. Enginalp Kırca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Can Sami received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Batı Orkun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th match minute, GÖZTEPE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Soner Böke to maneuver through the defense. Cenap Uğur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özden Hicran having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Can Sami shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Batı Orkun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Can Sami received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Batı Orkun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Bumin Aral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Özden Hicran was a little too slow when Cenap Uğur got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 2-2. The supporters of GÖZTEPE booed when Ulus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bumin Aral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
