An unexpectedly hard shot by Erenay Açıkalın in the 19th minute of play forced NEWROZ's goalkeeper Nuralp Yücesoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Arif Egemen Sonalp came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Japon Askeri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arif Egemen Sonalp couldn't finish the play. Erenay Açıkalın fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuralp Yücesoy having to interfere.
