In the 9th minute Gökay Baykır suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. When Boğaç Sair fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FENERBAHÇE's protests and gave Boğaç Sair a yellow card for diving instead. Islahiye made a substitution. Abdurrahman Kutsoy replaced Gökay Baykır. In the 10th minute, Boğaç Sair hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arcan Öğün sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kandemir Özkutal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dursun Ali Avcı, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute, Islahiye's Şinasi Ötüken seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Şinasi Ötüken the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Islahiye protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Şinasi Ötüken had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Islahiye fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! In the 23rd match minute, Islahiye was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İstemihan Pamiroğlu to maneuver through the defense. When Berke Yabgu fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Islahiye's protests and gave Berke Yabgu a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Islahiye's Berke Yabgu got a free kick in the 28th minute. Veysel Ahsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yüksel Vefalı in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute, FENERBAHÇE's Lokman Cumali ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Veysel Ahsen. Veysel Ahsen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Mustafa Oğuz Özgenay kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. If Arcan Öğün had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lokman Cumali to make the kick off. The supporters of FENERBAHÇE booed when Islahiye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hüseyin Soyurgal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute Lokman Cumali shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Veysel Ahsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Islahiye's Arcan Öğün got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, FENERBAHÇE's Melik Selim got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arcan Öğün in the 61st minute of play forced FENERBAHÇE's goalkeeper Kandemir Özkutal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Islahiye's Arcan Öğün got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arcan Öğün in the 68th minute of play forced FENERBAHÇE's goalkeeper Kandemir Özkutal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 minutes, Melik Selim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FENERBAHÇE and the Islahiye players grew even worse after the yellow card. Melik Selim kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. FENERBAHÇE's Kandemir Özkutal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arcan Öğün in the 72nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FENERBAHÇE's zone, Arcan Öğün stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kandemir Özkutal came out of the goal and Arcan Öğün tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Berke Yabgu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arcan Öğün received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Kandemir Özkutal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, FENERBAHÇE's Kandemir Özkutal got control of the ball when Abdurrahman Kutsoy tried to sneak it across the goal line. FENERBAHÇE's Kandemir Özkutal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save FENERBAHÇE from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the FENERBAHÇE defense, Hüseyin Soyurgal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kandemir Özkutal. The FENERBAHÇE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kandemir Özkutal should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Arcan Öğün managed to get in a good position for a shot. Islahiye's supporters rose to their feet, but Arcan Öğün was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kandemir Özkutal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kandemir Özkutal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hüseyin Soyurgal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The FENERBAHÇE players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
