Bektaş Ali Talu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Onur Sağıt having to interfere. Aşık Akçakoca's late challenge caught a Giresun FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aşık Akçakoca helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Giresun FK booed when Ikizce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aşık Akçakoca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Onur Sağıt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bektaş Ali Talu, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute Hüseyin Aktaş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seyfullah İşkembeci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ikizce getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ata Umurbay hit a great ball. When Hüseyin Aktaş came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Giresun FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hüseyin Aktaş couldn't finish the play. Andaç Safih took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Seyfullah İşkembeci. Seyfullah İşkembeci dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 45 minutes into the match, Ikizce's goal looked a bit too open when Zafer Temizcan came free, but Seyfullah İşkembeci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andaç Safih was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Giresun FK got a corner. Ikizce's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ahmet Baki Gülerce ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hulki Tarim tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Seyfullah İşkembeci. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 53rd minute. Hüseyin Aktaş was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. Giresun FK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Andaç Safih took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Seyfullah İşkembeci to make any attempt to save it. Hüseyin Aktaş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Seyfullah İşkembeci managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Giresun FK's Hüseyin Aktaş fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Ikizce's Seyfullah İşkembeci got control of the ball when Hüseyin Aktaş tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hüseyin Aktaş struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Seyfullah İşkembeci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Giresun FK. In the 89th minute, Andaç Safih got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andaç Safih in the 92nd minute of play forced Ikizce's goalkeeper Seyfullah İşkembeci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Giresun FK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ikizce throughout the match.
