The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Haldun Ulucan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zafer Temizcan, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. YEHA's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Samim Topçam 6 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esen İhya in the 15th minute of play forced Giresun FK's goalkeeper Onur Sağıt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esen İhya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Onur Sağıt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Andaç Safih was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 27th minute. Giresun FK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Hüseyin Aktaş in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Haldun Ulucan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Onur Sağıt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hasan Uçanok, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hüseyin Aktaş received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Haldun Ulucan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to YEHA getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Fadıl Akçan hit a great ball. Andaç Safih sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the match, YEHA's goal looked a bit too open when Andaç Safih came free, but Haldun Ulucan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haldun Ulucan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hüseyin Aktaş in the 46th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andaç Safih in the 47th minute of play forced YEHA's goalkeeper Haldun Ulucan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andaç Safih to strike the kick off in the second half. Hüseyin Aktaş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haldun Ulucan having to interfere. In the 55th minute Hüseyin Aktaş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haldun Ulucan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hüseyin Aktaş in the 57th minute of play forced YEHA's goalkeeper Haldun Ulucan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cemalettin Özdil kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Haldun Ulucan came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Giresun FK's Andaç Safih. But to his dismay, Andaç Safih quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Haldun Ulucan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samim Topçam, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Giresun FK's Onur Sağıt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Giresun FK from getting a goal against them. The supporters of YEHA booed when Giresun FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cezmi İrgun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 minutes, Samim Topçam mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Giresun FK and the YEHA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Giresun FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samim Topçam to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Birkan Sayıl sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Giresun FK's Onur Sağıt didn't even have to move. If Hüseyin Aktaş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giresun FK's Onur Sağıt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esen İhya in the 93rd minute of play. Onur Sağıt made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Hasan Uçanok sent off a good shot on target. Giresun FK walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
