Batuğ Binalp took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kurtuluş Kutlay. Kurtuluş Kutlay dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Garip Şenalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ahmet Hayri Tekalp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rüstem Orsel fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karapinar's protests and gave Rüstem Orsel a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tigers booed when Karapinar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rüstem Orsel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Karapinar's Erdal Ulutaş ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kurtuluş Kutlay. Kurtuluş Kutlay yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. In the 41st minute Erdal Ulutaş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kurtuluş Kutlay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Tigers's Mansur Kunt got a free kick in the 41st minute. Kurtuluş Kutlay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erdal Ulutaş in the 43rd minute of play. Ahmet Davut Bender took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ahmet Hayri Tekalp. Karapinar's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Kurtuluş Kutlay successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erdal Ulutaş was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erkut Civanbaht in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kurtuluş Kutlay saved Tigers from getting behind. Erdal Ulutaş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurtuluş Kutlay having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erdal Ulutaş in the 60th minute of play forced Tigers's goalkeeper Kurtuluş Kutlay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erkut Civanbaht in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kurtuluş Kutlay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kurtuluş Kutlay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erkut Civanbaht, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Kurtuluş Kutlay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erdal Ulutaş in the 69th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Erdal Ulutaş's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kurtuluş Kutlay was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. If Musa Ersoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cezmi Akçan's late challenge caught a Tigers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cezmi Akçan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 91 minutes, Batuğ Binalp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karapinar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Batuğ Binalp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that Karapinar were the better team. Karapinar's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
