Anibal Niguel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vatan Nafiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fenerbahçe SK's Tahsin Gariboğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Emir Özdeş in the 45th minute of play forced Bozkurt's goalkeeper Marvin Smith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
