When Akın Özyurek came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Galatabahçe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Akın Özyurek couldn't finish the play. Akın Özyurek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Sergen Tokyüz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Galatabahçe's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Binalp came free, but Emre Dengiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Akın Özyurek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Sergen Tokyüz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ahmet Hayri Erben might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sergen Tokyüz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ahmet Hayri Erben ran back to his position shaking his head. Ahmet Hayri Erben sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 20 minutes into the game, Akın Özyurek recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sergen Tokyüz. Akın Özyurek showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to Adapazarı getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Anıl Ozan Özger hit a great ball. Sergen Tokyüz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Battal Özmen in the 25th minute of play. Akın Özyurek's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergen Tokyüz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. In the 31st minute Anıl Ozan Özger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emre Dengiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Akın Özyurek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ahmet Hayri Erben fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergen Tokyüz having to interfere. Adapazarı's Sergen Tokyüz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Hayri Erben in the 39th minute of play. 43 minutes into the game, Mürsel Topçam cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Emre Dengiz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Emre Dengiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Binalp in the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Galatabahçe's Ahmet Hayri Erben got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Adapazarı's Kadim Hadim got a free kick in the 56th minute. Akın Özyurek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Galatabahçe fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Galatabahçe's Akın Özyurek looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 64th minute, Anıl Ozan Özger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67thth minute of the game Akın Özyurek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Adapazarı's Sergen Tokyüz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Akşemseddin İbiş in the 68th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Galatabahçe's Enver Ekşioğlu. Sergen Tokyüz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Akın Özyurek in the 71st minute of the match. Ahmet Hayri Erben received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Sergen Tokyüz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Galatabahçe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Adapazarı the free kick. After a rather tough play, Galatabahçe's Ahmet Hayri Erben got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Battal Özmen might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sergen Tokyüz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Battal Özmen ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Akın Özyurek in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sergen Tokyüz saved Adapazarı from getting behind. Tuncer Tufan's late challenge caught a Galatabahçe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tuncer Tufan helped the player get up and apologised. Tuncer Tufan kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Galatabahçe's zone, Ahmet Binalp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emre Dengiz came out of the goal and Ahmet Binalp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Akın Özyurek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galatabahçe's supporters rose to their feet, but Akın Özyurek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergen Tokyüz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Akın Özyurek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Sergen Tokyüz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
