When Fábio Abraão fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Orlando Pirates's protests and gave Fábio Abraão a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes Orlando Pirates got a freekick which was hit by Fábio Abraão. Orlando Pirates's Mehmet Hamdi Erçin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Orlando Pirates from getting a goal against them. In the 7th match minute, 19ÇORUMSPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tacettin Karhan to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute Reşit Nazif shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but İsa Çeliktaş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ömer Uruz kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Özer Yılğıralp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Orlando Pirates's supporters crossed their fingers, but Özer Yılğıralp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Orlando Pirates's Ömür Sabuncu got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Çeliker Başsoy's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Mehmet Hamdi Erçin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 31st minute, Ömür Sabuncu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, 19ÇORUMSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Xavier came free, but İsa Çeliktaş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Özer Yılğıralp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the 19ÇORUMSPOR defense, Özer Yılğıralp kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of İsa Çeliktaş. The 19ÇORUMSPOR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that İsa Çeliktaş should have stopped the shot. Çeliker Başsoy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mehmet Hamdi Erçin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Çeliker Başsoy to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Çeliker Başsoy in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mehmet Hamdi Erçin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute, Özer Yılğıralp made a precise shot to the right of İsa Çeliktaş. 19ÇORUMSPOR's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 64th minute, Mümtazer Asya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute of the match Derya Balkanlıoğlu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mehmet Hamdi Erçin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Jair Arizmendi came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Orlando Pirates fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jair Arizmendi couldn't finish the play. In the 76th match minute, 19ÇORUMSPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Derya Balkanlıoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Özer Yılğıralp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 19ÇORUMSPOR's Özdemir Şinas got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aníbal Xavier charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aníbal Xavier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 played minutes Orlando Pirates got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Xavier. When 19ÇORUMSPOR's Çeliker Başsoy in 87 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Mehmet Hamdi Erçin guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. İsa Çeliktaş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Özer Yılğıralp in the 88th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Orlando Pirates eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
