In the 9th minute, Cevdet Sonay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Selahaddin Yumlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bayezit Necid in the 10th minute of play. Sabahattin Öksal kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Gürkan Yönet struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Selahaddin Yumlu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FENERBAHÇE. Bayezit Necid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gürkan Yönet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cüneyt Uğuz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cüneyt Uğuz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdulaziz Uruk, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Cüneyt Uğuz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yıldıray Kayaalp in the 34th minute of play. When Gürkan Yönet came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the FENERBAHÇE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gürkan Yönet couldn't finish the play. 42 minutes into the match, FENERBAHÇE's Gürkan Yönet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Selahaddin Yumlu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yıldıray Kayaalp in the 47th minute of play forced FENERBAHÇE's goalkeeper Cüneyt Uğuz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Abdulaziz Uruk made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, FENERBAHÇE's Cüneyt Uğuz got control of the ball when Yıldıray Kayaalp tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Abdulaziz Uruk came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Serik fans jumped to their feet. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
