The crowd rose to their feet as Refref FC's Burç Yula slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Enginsu Özonder. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. Salih Delfin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abbas Kılıçaslan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salih Delfin in the 16th minute of play forced Refref FC's goalkeeper Abbas Kılıçaslan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Doğan Vaha hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. When Birdal Akarsu fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Refref FC's protests and gave Birdal Akarsu a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 minutes Refref FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After a rather tough play, Istanbul's Recep Ceceli got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 36th minute, Cihat Eroğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enginsu Özonder acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 37th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mahir Hürsel. After 39 minutes, Keramettin Sirri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Istanbul and the Refref FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 39 played minutes Istanbul got a freekick which was hit by Keramettin Sirri. Abbas Kılıçaslan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salih Delfin in the 41st minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Istanbul got a freekick which was hit by Cihat Eroğlu. Istanbul's Enginsu Özonder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Istanbul from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Bedir Kıralp came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Refref FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bedir Kıralp couldn't finish the play. Istanbul's Pekin Yurdaşen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Abbas Kılıçaslan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Abbas Kılıçaslan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salih Delfin in the 72nd minute of play. Bedir Kıralp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enginsu Özonder having to interfere. Abbas Kılıçaslan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salih Delfin in the 77th minute of the match. Recep Ceceli struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Abbas Kılıçaslan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Istanbul. Keramettin Sirri came free with the goalkeeper in the 96th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Abbas Kılıçaslan could save by the left post. Refref FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
