After 8 minutes of play, Tarbaz FC's Akgün Korkut made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafael Eguen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kenan Kapar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gürkan Özalpman having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Tarbaz FC's zone, Ahmet İlhan Şahbender stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gürkan Özalpman came out of the goal and Ahmet İlhan Şahbender tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With 24 minutes on the clock, Aras Görkem Kocak commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Ahmet İlhan Şahbender took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Gürkan Özalpman to make any attempt to save it. Ahmet İlhan Şahbender charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ahmet İlhan Şahbender the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rıfkı Sebukalp was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. Ankaragücü's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fırat Talha to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Ankaragücü was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmet İlhan Şahbender to maneuver through the defense. Ankaragücü's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
