The coaching staff of Van Spor protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Enrico Testa had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 48 minutes into the game, one of Van Spor:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mustafa Barış Çile had in the 50thth minute some difficulties stopping Aslan Arslanoğlu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.
