Ahmet Ali Güdeş hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. In the 3rd minute of the match Ersin Oğuzhan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hernan Cuarto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Utkan Ortaç made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Creangă in the 4th minute. Vicente Flores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Cuarto having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Yildirim SK's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Flores came free, but Hernan Cuarto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Yildirim SK defense, Vicente Flores kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hernan Cuarto. The Yildirim SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hernan Cuarto should have stopped the shot. Henryk Ernest fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Cuarto having to interfere. Hernan Cuarto came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by GÖZTEPE SK's Vicente Flores. But to his dismay, Vicente Flores quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 22 minutes into the match, Iakovos Papadimas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hernan Cuarto. Yildirim SK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iakovos Papadimas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Şeray Akbaş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Michal Andrysiak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Utkan Ortaç was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Vicente Flores took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hernan Cuarto. Hernan Cuarto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. If Iakovos Papadimas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 36 played minutes Yildirim SK got a freekick which was hit by Nazım Kırca. A collision led to Yildirim SK getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Şeray Akbaş hit a great ball. Vicente Flores sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hernan Cuarto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iakovos Papadimas, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Vicente Flores received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Hernan Cuarto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Yildirim SK's Şeray Akbaş got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half GÖZTEPE SK were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vicente Flores made a kick off. If Vicente Flores had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. GÖZTEPE SK's Iakovos Papadimas got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Yildirim SK's Hernan Cuarto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Flores in the 59th minute of play. If Vicente Flores had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernan Cuarto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iakovos Papadimas in the 63rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iakovos Papadimas got free with Hernan Cuarto in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Iakovos Papadimas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iakovos Papadimass short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Hernan Cuarto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Hernan Cuarto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vicente Flores's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nazım Kırca in the 75th minute of play forced GÖZTEPE SK's goalkeeper Utkan Ortaç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, GÖZTEPE SK's Iakovos Papadimas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hernan Cuarto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The GÖZTEPE SK fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when GÖZTEPE SK's Vicente Flores looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hernan Cuarto was a little too slow when Vicente Flores got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 0-6. Hernan Cuarto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Flores, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vicente Flores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Cuarto having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched GÖZTEPE SK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
