Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Melih Cevdet Yaygır hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Aktaç Toköz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melih Cevdet Tuğaltan, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 32 minutes into the game, when Sakut Şencan put in a rough tackle. Aktaç Toköz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melih Cevdet Tuğaltan in the 35th minute of the match. Ahmet Reha Şafak struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Baybars Urangu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kovancilar. In the 38th minute, Ahmet Reha Şafak made a precise shot to the right of Baybars Urangu. Merzifon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Ahmet Reha Şafak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Melih Cevdet Tuğaltan made a kick off. After some careless play in the Kovancilar defense, Çakır Bengisoy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aktaç Toköz. The Kovancilar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aktaç Toköz should have stopped the shot. 64 minutes into the match, Merzifon's Melih Cevdet Tuğaltan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aktaç Toköz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Melih Cevdet Tuğaltan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merzifon's supporters rose to their feet, but Melih Cevdet Tuğaltan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aktaç Toköz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Bekir Korkutalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Kovancilar's Kamber Tankut got a free kick in the 77th minute. After having played for 79 minutes, Melih Cevdet Tuğaltan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merzifon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Melih Cevdet Tuğaltan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th play minute Çakır Bengisoy came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Aktaç Toköz. 2-3. Bekir Korkutalp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Merzifon were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Kovancilar's much stronger midfield.
