Yalçın Erensoy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kenny N'Diaye fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enes Koçaş having to interfere. MALATYASPOR's Enes Koçaş proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save MALATYASPOR from getting a goal against them. Yalçın Erensoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Archie Chu in the 14th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Hulki Zaid's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enes Koçaş was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hulki Zaid got free with Enes Koçaş in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yalçın Erensoy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umur Peker, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Newells Old Boys's Kenny N'Diaye ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Enes Koçaş. Enes Koçaş yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hulki Zaid got free with Enes Koçaş in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Enes Koçaş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny N'Diaye, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, MALATYASPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Hulki Zaid came free, but Enes Koçaş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enes Koçaş made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny N'Diaye in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute Newells Old Boys were awarded a corner. Enis Behiç Paker went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Enis Behiç Paker almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but MALATYASPOR's Enes Koçaş did a great save. Cankut Zağanos tried in the 35th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Enes Koçaş a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 3-1. Yalçın Erensoy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Archie Chu's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. In the 47th minute Hulki Zaid shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enes Koçaş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

MALATYASPOR's Enes Koçaş played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enis Behiç Paker in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny N'Diaye in the 53rd minute of play forced MALATYASPOR's goalkeeper Enes Koçaş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Yalçın Erensoy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner led to MALATYASPOR's Bora Han Uçman getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 68th minute, Hulki Zaid ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enes Koçaş was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. If Başaran Tuncay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dirk Kuijt hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Enes Koçaş made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hulki Zaid in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enis Behiç Paker in the 80th minute of play forced MALATYASPOR's goalkeeper Enes Koçaş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
