Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The audience was convinced that Abdul Aziz Baroun's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ayoob Taiban was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. The supporters of Abingdon booed when Penistone was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarah Shrean didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abdul Mohsen Al Srae hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Ayoob Taiban showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bassam Al Abdullah, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 15thth minute of the game Bassam Al Abdullah who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Penistone's Ayoob Taiban was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ayoob Taiban showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdul Aziz Baroun in the 16th minute of the match. Ayoob Taiban made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bassam Al Abdullah in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Hakem Al Homaithe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Penistone's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abingdon the free kick. In the 21st minute of the match Basem Al Ali shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ayoob Taiban showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Abingdon got a corner. Penistone's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Basem Al Ali ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Basem Al Ali got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ayoob Taiban quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Abdul Aziz Baroun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Esam Al Muwail during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Esam Al Muwail hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute of the match Penistone got a corner. Abingdon's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nizar Khaja ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Penistone's Nizar Khaja to fire away a dangerous shot which Esmael Al Amer despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Naem Al Habshi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mahmoud Al Herz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esmael Al Amer having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Abingdon got a freekick which was hit by Abdul Aziz Baroun. Penistone's Ayoob Taiban played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bassam Al Abdullah in the 37th minute of play. Bassam Al Abdullah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nizar Khaja struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Esmael Al Amer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penistone. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bassam Al Abdullah made a kick off. The supporters of Abingdon booed when Penistone was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mahmoud Al Herz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bassam Al Abdullah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Ayoob Taiban tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Penistone's Jarah Shrean got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Bassam Al Abdullah who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Ayoob Taiban when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Nizar Khaja came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Penistone fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nizar Khaja couldn't finish the play. Ayoob Taiban made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Bassam Al Abdullah sent off a good shot on target. When Jarah Shrean fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penistone's protests and gave Jarah Shrean a yellow card for diving instead. Jarah Shrean hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Abingdon's Bassam Al Abdullah got a free kick in the 74th minute. After 78 played minutes Abingdon got a freekick which was hit by Esam Al Muwail. A collision led to Penistone getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Jarah Shrean hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Bassam Al Abdullah managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abingdon's supporters rose to their feet, but Bassam Al Abdullah was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ayoob Taiban breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 83 minutes of play, Penistone's Naem Al Habshi made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Esmael Al Amer was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Nizar Khaja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bassam Al Abdullah's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ayoob Taiban firmly grabbed it by the left post. Esam Al Muwail sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
