The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vitaliy Bessonov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kim Arshavin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Igor Bondarev in the 44th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

If Georgiy Chernov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th match minute, ФК Карачев was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arkadiy Andreev to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marat Dubovenko in the 58th minute of play forced Rio Branco's goalkeeper Kim Arshavin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Vitaliy Bessonov fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ФК Карачев's protests and gave Vitaliy Bessonov a yellow card for diving instead. Vitaliy Bessonov hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georgiy Chernov in the 64th minute of play forced ФК Карачев's goalkeeper Evgeniy Demura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Fedor Teleshov made a precise shot to the right of Evgeniy Demura. ФК Карачев's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Valeriy Emelyanov hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Georgiy Chernov received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Evgeniy Demura came out and tried to block the shot, but Georgiy Chernov slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 73rd minute. After 81 played minutes Rio Branco got a freekick which was hit by Valeriy Belavkin. ФК Карачев's Evgeniy Demura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fedor Teleshov in the 86th minute of play. When Boleslav Sorokin came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Rio Branco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boleslav Sorokin couldn't finish the play. Evgeniy Demura was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Valeriy Belavkin. In the 95th minute, Boleslav Sorokin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Rio Branco walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
