Juninho Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Felice Gianfrancesco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksandr Sibirev having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Спартак's zone, Juninho Pernambucano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aleksandr Sibirev came out of the goal and Juninho Pernambucano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the game, Felice Gianfrancesco recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Aleksandr Sibirev. Felice Gianfrancesco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. A hard shot 31 in the game by Juninho Pernambucano from a close distance when the talented Aleksandr Sibirev managed to make a qualified save. Спартак's players were relieved. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Roman Larionov got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some careless play in the Спартак defense, Roman Larionov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aleksandr Sibirev. The Спартак fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aleksandr Sibirev should have stopped the shot. Roman Larionov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Aleksandr Sibirev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Juninho Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ROTOR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juninho Pernambucano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juninho Pernambucano to strike the kick off in the second half. Domenico Cavanna hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. When Timur Denisov fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ROTOR's protests and gave Timur Denisov a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th match minute, ROTOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timur Denisov to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, ROTOR's Felice Gianfrancesco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aleksandr Sibirev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aleksandr Sibirev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho Pernambucano in the 70th minute of the match. Спартак's Aleksandr Sibirev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Pernambucano in the 72nd minute of play. Andrey Izotov made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Armando Lucantoni sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Lucantoni got free with Andrey Izotov in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aleksandr Sibirev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juninho Pernambucano's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. A collision led to ROTOR getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Timofey Uvarov hit a great ball. After 93 minutes Спартак's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rostislav Levinzon who took care of the corner kick. ROTOR's Rostislav Levinzon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aleksandr Sibirev in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 95th match minute, ROTOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domenico Cavanna to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that ROTOR were the better team. ROTOR's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
