Kuwait SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Madrid the free kick. Basel Al Azmi hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Mosa Al Sallal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jamel Boyd having to interfere. Yasen Khorshed might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jamel Boyd. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yasen Khorshed ran back to his position shaking his head. If Mosa Al Sallal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jamel Boyd made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yasen Khorshed in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Real Madrid's zone, Richie Sánchez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fahad Al Besher came out of the goal and Richie Sánchez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 25 played minutes Kuwait SC got a freekick which was hit by Sultan Bahroh. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mosa Al Sallal during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th match minute, Real Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mosa Al Sallal to maneuver through the defense. Ghasan Shalan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fahad Al Besher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Yasen Khorshed's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jamel Boyd firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Richie Sánchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mosa Al Sallal to make the kick off. Sultan Bahroh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Yasen Khorshed came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Real Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yasen Khorshed couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yasen Khorshed in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jamel Boyd saved Kuwait SC from getting behind. 60 minutes into the game, Basel Abol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Madrid's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kuwait SC the free kick. Yasen Khorshed blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jamel Boyd having to make a save. With a little luck, Real Madrid's Fahad Al Besher got control of the ball when Ghasan Shalan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Madrid's goalkeeper Fahad Al Besher, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 70th minute Richie Sánchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fahad Al Besher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Kuwait SC's Richie Sánchez tried to score from far away in the 72nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Jamel Boyd stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mosa Al Sallal's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Ghasan Shalan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kuwait SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Madrid the free kick. The supporters of Real Madrid booed when Kuwait SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ghasan Shalan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emad Al Najdi, 87 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Ayoob Al Homaithe fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kuwait SC's protests and gave Ayoob Al Homaithe a yellow card for diving instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
