Caistor Park
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Robert Hassan made the kick off and thus started the match. A collision led to York getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Ogembo Kipkoech hit a great ball. If Julius Hassan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Hassan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Omar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Emmanuel Kipketer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Nashon Nzeki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Caistor booed when York was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waruhiu Kipkoech didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, one of York:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for York. The referee gave Caistor a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nashon Kivilu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of York's Nashon Nzeki. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emmanuel Kipketer in the 17th minute of play forced York's goalkeeper Nashon Nzeki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. York's Nashon Nzeki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emmanuel Kipketer in the 20th minute of play. Robert Hassan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Omar having to interfere. If Emmanuel Kipketer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to York getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ogembo Kipkoech hit a great ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Patrick Wainaina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caistor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Wainaina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert Hassan in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Omar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute, Kipchoge Denno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Caistor! Emmanuel Kipketer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emmanuel Kipketer in the 45th minute of play forced York's goalkeeper Nashon Nzeki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick Wainaina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nashon Nzeki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Emmanuel Kipketer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nashon Nzeki having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emmanuel Kipketer to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the game, York's Robert Hassan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Omar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After having played for 61 minutes, Patrick Wainaina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caistor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Wainaina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emmanuel Kipketer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nashon Nzeki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emmanuel Kipketer, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. David Omar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ogembo Kipkoech went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After 72 minutes, Shekhar Khayeshe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caistor and the York players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Caistor:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of York:s goal. After 75 played minutes York got a freekick which was hit by Ogembo Kipkoech. Emmanuel Kipketer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nashon Nzeki having to make a save. Robert Hassan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Caistor booed when York was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julius Hassan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Robert Hassan managed to get in a good position for a shot. York's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert Hassan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Omar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julius Hassan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Omar having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Robert Hassan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Omar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th match minute, York was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waruhiu Kipkoech to maneuver through the defense. Nashon Kivilu, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Emmanuel Kipketer struck a weak shot in the 100th minute. Nashon Nzeki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caistor. York's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
