Spectators: 9263 (Terracing: 6949, Seating: 2130, VIP seats: 184) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Charles Kariuki made the kick off which started today's match. After a rather tough play, Donnington AFC's Fred Dawkins got a free kick in the 2nd minute. St Ives FC's Mahmoud Kipsang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chuma Okayo in the 6th minute of play. Joseph Muhoho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Gabriel Shah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 15 minutes, Christopher Kimathi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Donnington AFC and the St Ives FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Chuma Okayo's late challenge caught a St Ives FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chuma Okayo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th minute, Chuma Okayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Benjamin Kimutai Rop sped through Donnington AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gabriel Shah. After 21 minutes of play, Donnington AFC's Chuma Okayo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mahmoud Kipsang was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joseph Muhoho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Charles Kariuki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurice Kirui charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maurice Kirui the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to St Ives FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Maurice Kirui hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute, a hard, long distance shot from Controller Kenyatta hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Francis Oundo hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. During the 38th minute of the match Christopher Kimathi completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Christopher Kimathi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 39 played minutes Donnington AFC got a freekick which was hit by Christopher Kimathi. Fred Dawkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

In the 51st minute, Benjamin Kimutai Rop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sammy Waithaka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, St Ives FC's Mahmoud Kipsang got control of the ball when Oginga Kariuki tried to sneak it across the goal line. Francis Oundo struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Mahmoud Kipsang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Donnington AFC. After 61 minutes, Francis Oundo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Donnington AFC and the St Ives FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Donnington AFC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Francis Oundo hit a great ball. After 61 played minutes, St Ives FC's Sammy Waithaka shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gabriel Shah came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in St Ives FC reached it. St Ives FC's Mahmoud Kipsang proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save St Ives FC from getting a goal against them. Mahmoud Kipsang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Dawkins in the 69th minute of the match. Fred Dawkins charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fred Dawkins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Donnington AFC's zone, Bwana Imathiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Shah came out of the goal and Bwana Imathiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francis Oundo got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Donnington AFC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Francis Oundo hit a great ball. Charles Kariuki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Charles Kariuki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Mahmoud Kipsang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
