Mike Sarun hit a great ball. 12 minutes into the match, Annscroft's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Chege came free, but Abdallah Ali Maina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Chuma Obondo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hurst Green fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. McDonald Leakey took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abdallah Ali Maina. Abdallah Ali Maina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Kariuki in the 26th minute of play forced Hurst Green's goalkeeper Peter Nyamau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Fred Kariuki kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Peter Nyamau. That made the score 1-3 in the 26 minute of play. The supporters of Hurst Green booed when Annscroft was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Osoro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Dadi struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Abdallah Ali Maina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hurst Green. In the 32nd minute Adah Keter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdallah Ali Maina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Annscroft defense, Adah Keter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abdallah Ali Maina. The Annscroft fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abdallah Ali Maina should have stopped the shot. Abdallah Ali Maina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adah Keter in the 37th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Adah Keter put it in 1-5 from a short distance just to the right of Abdallah Ali Maina. 41 minutes into the game, McDonald Leakey cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Abdallah Ali Maina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 44th minute, Adah Keter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hurst Green fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-7. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-7.

The wind increased when Fred Kariuki made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Kipchoge Njoroge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. McDonald Leakey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Abdallah Ali Maina made a huge save. Abdallah Ali Maina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kipchoge Njoroge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves McDonald Leakey could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Abdallah Ali Maina however easily saved by the left post. 74 minutes into the match, Annscroft's goal looked a bit too open when Antony Asati came free, but Abdallah Ali Maina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter Nyamau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Menza, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Abdallah Ali Maina made an important save on a dangerous shot by McDonald Leakey in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Annscroft's goal looked a bit too open when Adah Keter came free, but Abdallah Ali Maina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hurst Green's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Victor Dadi in the 87th minute. The corner led to Hurst Green's McDonald Leakey getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Hurst Green's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
