After a defensive mix-up in Ordubad Dinamo's zone, Ilqar Abdurähmanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Färhad Äkbärov came out of the goal and Ilqar Abdurähmanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ordubad Dinamo's Färhad Äkbärov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilqar Abdurähmanov in the 20th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Ordubad Dinamo's Faiq Abbasäliyev threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Färid Ataşov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 30 minutes into the game, Qarabag's Ildırım Salmanov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Färhad Äkbärov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Qarabag's goalkeeper Faiq Abbasäliyev, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The ball had pretty good speed, but Färhad Äkbärov firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ildırım Salmanov in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the match, Qarabag's goal looked a bit too open when Mürsäl Aslanov came free, but Faiq Abbasäliyev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
