Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Yahya Narimani got the match started through his kick off. Rostam Sharifinia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danush Javaherian having to interfere. 6 minutes into the game, Rostam Sharifinia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Danush Javaherian was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 11 minutes into the game, Asghar Asgharzadeh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Exeter's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Royston the free kick. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Exeter! Danush Javaherian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rostam Sharifinia in the 15th minute of play. Danush Javaherian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Touraj Farzanian in the 21st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Royston defense, Rostam Sharifinia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Danush Javaherian. The Royston fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Danush Javaherian should have stopped the shot. Rostam Sharifinia struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Danush Javaherian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Exeter. Rostam Sharifinia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Yahya Narimani was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 30th minute. Royston's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Touraj Farzanian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danush Javaherian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rostam Sharifinia, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Yahya Narimani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mansoor Babakan having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Rostam Sharifinia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danush Javaherian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Royston's Danush Javaherian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Touraj Farzanian in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rostam Sharifinia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Touraj Farzanian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Exeter fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Exeter's goalkeeper Mansoor Babakan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 59 minutes, Touraj Farzanian managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Exeter's supporters crossed their fingers, but Touraj Farzanian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gholam Reza Hashemian during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 63 minutes into the game, one of Royston:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Rostam Sharifinia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rostam Sharifinia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Danush Javaherian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Royston fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Danush Javaherian should have stopped the shot. 96 minutes into the game, Rostam Sharifinia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Danush Javaherian. Rostam Sharifinia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-7. When the match was over Exeter could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Royston throughout the match.
