Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Farrokh Tahmasebi got the match started through his kick off. Farrokh Tahmasebi might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Faramarz Torabi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Farrokh Tahmasebi ran back to his position shaking his head. After 4 played minutes Birkenhead got a freekick which was hit by Yahya Talaei. Faramarz Torabi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Heydar Sharifi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. After having played for 10 minutes, Farrokh Tahmasebi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rackenford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Farrokh Tahmasebi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heydar Sharifi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Faramarz Torabi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Birkenhead's zone, Heydar Sharifi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faramarz Torabi came out of the goal and Heydar Sharifi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Yahya Talaei notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Rackenford's Khosrow Alviri. Khosrow Alviri was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sattar Ghods hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Farrokh Tahmasebi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Faramarz Torabi having to make a save. Arya Homayoun's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Faramarz Torabi firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Birkenhead's Faramarz Torabi got control of the ball when Arya Homayoun tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aram Nosrati took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Khosrow Alviri. Rackenford's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Heydar Sharifi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Khosrow Alviri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yahya Talaei in the 44th minute of play. After some careless play in the Birkenhead defense, Farrokh Tahmasebi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Faramarz Torabi. The Birkenhead fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Faramarz Torabi should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Yahya Talaei to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Heydar Sharifi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rackenford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heydar Sharifi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute Yahya Talaei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khosrow Alviri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faramarz Torabi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arya Homayoun in the 57th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Farrokh Tahmasebi in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faramarz Torabi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Heydar Sharifi came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Rackenford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heydar Sharifi couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ahmad Reza Ghoreishi during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ahmad Reza Ghoreishi hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Birkenhead's goalkeeper Faramarz Torabi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rackenford's Khosrow Alviri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsalnn Bazargan in the 67th minute of play. Faramarz Torabi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Farrokh Tahmasebi's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Birkenhead's zone, Arya Homayoun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faramarz Torabi came out of the goal and Arya Homayoun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rackenford's Ali Parsi got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Heydar Sharifi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heydar Sharifi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faramarz Torabi having to interfere. Shahyar Tavakoli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faramarz Torabi having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Birkenhead's goal looked a bit too open when Farrokh Tahmasebi came free, but Faramarz Torabi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rackenford's Farrokh Tahmasebi got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that Rackenford were the better team. Rackenford's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
