Seating: 2162, VIP seats: 217) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Wasel Al Bahar got the match started through his kick off. Aguirre Verde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wasel Al Bahar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 3 played minutes DUBAI Palm Jumeirah got a freekick which was hit by Manaf Al Arbash. In the 6th minute Meshal Al Herz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aguirre Verde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Zbyszko Rywin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Joop Minnen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 27 minutes into the match, Yazeed Dehrab had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aguirre Verde. DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yazeed Dehrab was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Sharjah FC were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ayman Jiragh took the corner. Sharjah FC's Ayman Jiragh was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aguirre Verde in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Yazeed Dehrab had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdul Mohsen Al Saleh to make the kick off. After 54 minutes, Ebrahem Al Sayer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sharjah FC and the DUBAI Palm Jumeirah players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sharjah FC's Ebrahem Al Sayer got a free kick in the 54th minute. Abdul Mohsen Al Saleh missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 55 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Joop Minnen right hand side. Shjae Al Sallal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aguirre Verde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After 57 played minutes DUBAI Palm Jumeirah got a freekick which was hit by Talib Al Nasser. With a little luck, DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's Aguirre Verde got control of the ball when Wasel Al Bahar tried to sneak it across the goal line. 60 minutes into the game, Wasel Al Bahar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Aguirre Verde was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Abdul Mohsen Al Saleh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yousef Sarkhoh hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 64 played minutes DUBAI Palm Jumeirah got a freekick which was hit by Aadil Al Sherazi. After 66 minutes, Aadil Al Sherazi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DUBAI Palm Jumeirah and the Sharjah FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th minute, Aadil Al Sherazi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 67 in the game by Wasel Al Bahar from a close distance when the talented Aguirre Verde managed to make a qualified save. DUBAI Palm Jumeirah's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Meshal Al Herz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sharjah FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Meshal Al Herz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aguirre Verde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute of the match, Yazeed Dehrab tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aguirre Verde saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With an all-out effort, Sharjah FC's Aguirre Verde threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Yazeed Dehrab, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Joop Minnen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jürgen Fahlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lütfi Eryildiz during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for DUBAI Palm Jumeirah! Aguirre Verde had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Ayman Jiragh's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
