In the 15th minute of the match Kirin Khanna shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angavaha Chandha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Anantaguna Biswas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute of the match, Dyutana Pradhan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dhanesha Chadha saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dyutana Pradhan during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 23 played minutes Newton Abbot got a freekick which was hit by Dyutana Pradhan. If Debangshu Johal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 1-0 became the score in the 31st minute when Dyutana Pradhan elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Newnham's goal looked a bit too open when Dyutana Pradhan came free, but Dhanesha Chadha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Debasis Ghag charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Debasis Ghag the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 41 played minutes Newnham got a freekick which was hit by Debasis Ghag. When Amurtarayas Ahuja fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newton Abbot's protests and gave Amurtarayas Ahuja a yellow card for diving instead. 45 minutes into the match, Newton Abbot's goal looked a bit too open when Debasis Ghag came free, but Angavaha Chandha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Dyutana Pradhan made the kick off in the second half. After 55 minutes, Gatleen Lepcha mouthed his way into the referee's book. Dyutana Pradhan might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dhanesha Chadha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dyutana Pradhan ran back to his position shaking his head. 67 minutes into the match, Newnham's goal looked a bit too open when Debangshu Johal came free, but Dhanesha Chadha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dyutana Pradhan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute Debasis Ghag shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angavaha Chandha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angavaha Chandha was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Debasis Ghag showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 78 minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Debangshu Johal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dhanesha Chadha. Newnham's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Debangshu Johal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Dhanesha Chadha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dyutana Pradhan went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. When Amurtarayas Ahuja was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 91 minutes had been played. Amurtarayas Ahuja kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Debasis Ghag received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Angavaha Chandha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Debasis Ghag left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newnham fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Newton Abbot had won after a very even match.
