Jyayas Jaggi walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Satwant Banerjee fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shadow Assassins's protests and gave Satwant Banerjee a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th match minute, Shadow Assassins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Satwant Banerjee to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Dirghadarsana Samra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shadow Assassins's supporters rose to their feet, but Dirghadarsana Samra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ambunidhi Panu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dirghadarsana Samra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ambunidhi Panu having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bishen Bhutia in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ambunidhi Panu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 21 minutes of play, Shadow Assassins's Bishen Bhutia made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ambunidhi Panu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Shadow Assassins's Gul Chamling got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, Janistha Basra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Balraj Judge. Shadow Assassins's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Janistha Basra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 30 minutes into the game, Gul Chamling was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shadow Assassins's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cockermouth City the free kick. The supporters of Cockermouth City booed when Shadow Assassins was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gul Chamling didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Shadow Assassins's zone, Janistha Basra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Balraj Judge came out of the goal and Janistha Basra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ambunidhi Panu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramachander Bhasin, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute, Janistha Basra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jatinderpreet Dhaliwal got free with Balraj Judge in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ambunidhi Panu went to the wrong direction when Jyayas Jaggi was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Jatinderpreet Dhaliwal made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Cockermouth City's zone, Dirghadarsana Samra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ambunidhi Panu came out of the goal and Dirghadarsana Samra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bishen Bhutia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Gul Chamling managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shadow Assassins's supporters rose to their feet, but Gul Chamling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ambunidhi Panu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shadow Assassins's Dirghadarsana Samra got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramachander Bhasin hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the game, Dirghadarsana Samra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ambunidhi Panu. Dirghadarsana Samra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Bishen Bhutia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cockermouth City's Ambunidhi Panu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dirghadarsana Samra in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Cockermouth City's goalkeeper Ambunidhi Panu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bishen Bhutia. Bishen Bhutia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Ambunidhi Panu made a huge save.
