Jalasa Warwaha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anasvan Sudan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 minutes, Santokh Solanki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newton Heath FC and the Weaverham FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Barinder Chima fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Weaverham FC's protests and gave Barinder Chima a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Weaverham FC's Barinder Chima got a free kick in the 29th minute. Newton Heath FC's Dvarakadasa Aujla got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Weaverham FC's zone, Dvarakadasa Aujla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Atish Dale came out of the goal and Dvarakadasa Aujla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the game, Devasura Sethi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Atish Dale. Devasura Sethi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to Weaverham FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Barinder Chima hit a great ball. Atish Dale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angabhu Sangma in the 46th minute. Barinder Chima hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dvarakadasa Aujla made the kick off in the second half. Weaverham FC's Atish Dale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angabhu Sangma in the 55th minute of play. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Weaverham FC's goalkeeper Atish Dale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anasvan Sudan got free with Jalasa Warwaha in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the game, Anudruhu Dwivedi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Weaverham FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newton Heath FC the free kick. A collision led to Weaverham FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Anudruhu Dwivedi hit a great ball. Carudatta Sull's late challenge caught a Newton Heath FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carudatta Sull helped the player get up and apologised. After 83 played minutes Weaverham FC got a freekick which was hit by Carudatta Sull. During the 84th minute of the match Carudatta Sull completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Carudatta Sull a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Newton Heath FC booed when Weaverham FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carudatta Sull didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angabhu Sangma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Atish Dale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
