The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute, Massem Basrai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Taverham FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 11th minute, one of Ainsdale:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ainsdale. In the 21st minute of the match Amarishnu Denhoy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Harinder Mondol skillfully saved the ball. Harinder Mondol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shambu Shrivastav, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beant Johar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harinder Mondol having to interfere. Shambu Shrivastav sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the game, Amalamani Shindi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ainsdale's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taverham FC the free kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shambu Shrivastav stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Shambu Shrivastav received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Harinder Mondol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Taverham FC's goal looked a bit too open when Shambu Shrivastav came free, but Harinder Mondol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Shambu Shrivastav reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Harinder Mondol. The goal made the score 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Massem Basrai in the 75th minute of play forced Ainsdale's goalkeeper Ksaman Tur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amalamani Shindi was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 76 played minutes Ainsdale got a freekick which was hit by Amalamani Shindi. If Beant Johar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute.
