Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nguyễn Thuy kicked off to start the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trần Xuan in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Tho saved Ha Giang from getting behind. Ha Giang's Nguyễn Tho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Ha Giang from getting a goal against them. 9 minutes into the match, Trần Anh Hung had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Trần Pham. Vi Thanh's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Trần Anh Hung was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Đặng Hoa fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ha Giang's protests and gave Đặng Hoa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th minute, Đặng Hoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Trần Xuan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Ha Giang's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Xuan came free, but Nguyễn Tho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Trần Xuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Tho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Thuy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Pham having to interfere. A collision led to Vi Thanh getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. La Binh hit a great ball. Huỳnh Cuc blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Tho having to make a save. 31 minutes into the match, Trần Anh Hung had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Trần Pham. After a rather tough play, Ha Giang's Nguyễn Thanh Bình got a free kick in the 34th minute. Huỳnh Cuc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Tho having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Huỳnh Cuc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Huỳnh Cuc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vi Thanh's supporters rose to their feet, but Huỳnh Cuc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Tho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Ha Giang were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Trần Xuan to make the kick off. When Vi Thanh's Trần Xuan in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ha Giang's goalie prevented a goal. Đặng Hoa got his second yellow card in the match during the 59th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Đặng Hoa hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Trần Xuan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vi Thanh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The audience was convinced that Trần Xuan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Tho was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. If Trần Xuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phạm Quang hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the match, Vi Thanh's goalkeeper Trần Pham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Trần Anh Hung. Trần Anh Hung who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Trần Pham when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 78 minutes into the game, La Binh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vi Thanh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ha Giang the free kick. La Binh kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. If Huỳnh Cuc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Vi Thanh's goalkeeper Trần Pham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Trần Anh Hung. After a rather tough play, Vi Thanh's Nguyễn Lan got a free kick in the 91st minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
