Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) In the 5th match minute, Nam Dinh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nghiêm Phuoc to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Cadeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Triệu Quang Thanh was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Trần Chuong capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Trần Chuong really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. If Phạm Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Hong came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Tuy Hoa's Nguyễn Cadeo. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Cadeo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Bùi Thai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Nguyễn Hong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Cadeo in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Hong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 46 played minutes, Tuy Hoa's Hoàng Quang Thanh shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nguyễn Hong came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tuy Hoa reached it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Nguyễn Cadeo made the kick off in the second half. Nghiêm Phuoc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Triệu Quang Thanh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Nam Dinh booed when Tuy Hoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Duong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tuy Hoa's Triệu Quang Thanh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Chuong in the 54th minute of play. Nguyễn Hong didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Phạm Thanh went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Nam Dinh's Trần Chuong got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Cadeo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Nguyễn Hong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd play minute Phạm Thanh came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nguyễn Hong. 1-4. If Nguyễn Tinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Phạm Thanh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A very good chance for a goal. 88 minutes into the game, Nam Dinh's Trần Chuong nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Triệu Quang Thanh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. After a defensive mix-up in Nam Dinh's zone, Phạm Thanh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Hong came out of the goal and Phạm Thanh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Nam Dinh supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tuy Hoa's performance. The match ended with a win for Tuy Hoa.
