With a little luck, THANH HÓA FC's Nguyễn Bay got control of the ball when Phạm Nhật Minh tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Phạm Nhật Minh got free with Nguyễn Bay in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, THANH HÓA FC's Nguyễn Duc got a free kick in the 28th minute. After a rather tough play, PADFC's Trần Xuan got a free kick in the 34th minute. PADFC's Nghiêm Diem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hoàng Pham in the 38th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bùi Quang in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nghiêm Diem saved PADFC from getting behind. Nghiêm Diem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hoàng Pham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. THANH HÓA FC's Nguyễn Bay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save THANH HÓA FC from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hoàng Pham to strike the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Bay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phạm Nhật Minh in the 59th minute of the match. Hoàng Pham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Nghiêm Diem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute Phạm Nhật Minh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Bay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bùi Quang recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st minute of the match Nguyễn Xuan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Bay showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 82nd minute, THANH HÓA FC's Hoàng Pham ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nghiêm Diem. Nghiêm Diem yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. 86 minutes into the match, PADFC's goalkeeper Nghiêm Diem had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bùi Quang. If Hoàng Pham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mai Quang Thanh kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. THANH HÓA FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
