Bac Kan's Võ Hieu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hồ Tuyet in the 17th minute of play. Vương Teo charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vương Teo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 21 played minutes Bac Kan got a freekick which was hit by Vương Teo. A long shot from Đinh Anh Hung in the 23rd minute of play was well struck, but Võ Hieu made a really good save at the right post. A collision led to Bac Kan getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Nguyễn Hieu hit a great ball. When Nguyễn Duong came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Mong Cai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Duong couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Duong took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Võ Hieu. Võ Hieu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 40 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Thanh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mong Cai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bac Kan the free kick. In the 41st match minute, Mong Cai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Thanh to maneuver through the defense. When Nguyễn Minh came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Bac Kan fans jumped to their feet. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hồ Tuyet in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Võ Hieu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Duong's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Võ Hieu was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Triệu Diem kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Nguyễn Duong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Võ Hieu having to interfere. After 69 minutes, Nguyễn Than mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bac Kan and the Mong Cai players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 70 played minutes Bac Kan got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Than. In the 71st minute, Nguyễn Duong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th minute of the match, Nguyễn Hung tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nguyễn Tuyet saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Nguyễn Hung got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 78th match minute, Mong Cai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hồ Tuyet to maneuver through the defense.
