Đặng Nga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lương Mai, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Ba Ria-Vung Tau's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Ho came free, but Phan Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Hoang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Phan Hong made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Thai Huu FC's Nguyễn Phuc got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute of the match Trần Hong shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Đặng Nga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bùi Diem was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Thai Huu FC's Đặng Nga got control of the ball when Bùi Diem tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Nguyễn Phuc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Lưu Huy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Phan Hong was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Nguyễn Ho kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Phan Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lê Hoang, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Phan Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Hoang in the 68th minute of play. If Nguyễn Phuc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phan Hong came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Thai Huu FC's Nguyễn Ho. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Ho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Nguyễn Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match.
