To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Đào Loc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phùng Dinh in the 21st minute of play. Bùi Than sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 29 minutes into the match, Tay Ninh's goalkeeper Đào Loc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bùi Than. In the 30th minute, Lê Diem ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Đào Loc was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 33rd minute, Phùng Dinh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Liem in the 42nd minute of play forced Tay Ninh's goalkeeper Đào Loc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nguyễn Quang Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Đào Loc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kader Oper in the 67th minute of play forced Tay Ninh's goalkeeper Đào Loc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lê Minh might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Đào Loc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lê Minh ran back to his position shaking his head. Lê Phuong struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Đào Loc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
