An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicholas Chee in the 5th minute of play forced Chichester team's goalkeeper Wong Tioe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicholas Chee might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wong Tioe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicholas Chee ran back to his position shaking his head. Preston City's Shukrie Teo got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th minute, Shukrie Teo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shukrie Teo in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wong Tioe saved Chichester team from getting behind. If Nicholas Chee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Chichester team getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Deivid Pereira hit a great ball. After 30 played minutes Chichester team got a freekick which was hit by Iskandar Tian. Chichester team's Wong Tioe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shukrie Teo in the 41st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Shukrie Teo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Preston City's supporters rose to their feet, but Shukrie Teo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wong Tioe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicholas Laycock to make the kick off. Nicholas Laycock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wong Tioe having to interfere. 55 minutes into the game, Shukrie Teo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Wong Tioe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Chichester team's Wong Tioe got control of the ball when Nicholas Chee tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 61 minutes, Shukrie Teo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Preston City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shukrie Teo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Shukrie Teo came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Preston City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shukrie Teo couldn't finish the play. Shukrie Teo struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Wong Tioe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Preston City. 69 minutes into the match, Shukrie Teo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wong Tioe, 0-2. Shukrie Teo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Shukrie Teo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shukrie Teo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Wong Tioe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Preston City's Shukrie Teo got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
