Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Koh ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Bendemeer Mariners FC booed when Paloma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicholas Liang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wong Shyan's late challenge caught a Paloma's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wong Shyan helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes Bendemeer Mariners FC got a freekick which was hit by Wong Shyan. Joel Tioe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zack Hong, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute, Felix Koh reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zafran Butcher. The goal made the score 1-0. Bendemeer Mariners FC's Zack Hong got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Bendemeer Mariners FC's Shahiran Hee in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paloma's goalie prevented a goal. Zack Hong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Tioe having to interfere. Bendemeer Mariners FC's Zafran Butcher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Koh in the 42nd minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Muhammad Mathewss short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Joel Tioe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jonathan Dhanabalan kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Zack Hong came free with the goalkeeper in the 62nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joel Tioe could save by the left post. Joel Tioe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shahiran Hee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shahiran Hee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, Bendemeer Mariners FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sajeev Ramachandran came free, but Zafran Butcher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Nicholas Liang cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Zafran Butcher was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 80 minutes into the match, Paloma's goal looked a bit too open when Shahiran Hee came free, but Joel Tioe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zack Hong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Joel Tioe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shahiran Hee in the 83rd minute of play forced Paloma's goalkeeper Joel Tioe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Paloma's goalkeeper Joel Tioe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zack Hong. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Shahiran Hee managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bendemeer Mariners FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Shahiran Hee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Tioe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sajeev Ramachandran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 91 minutes into the game, Ron Au was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paloma's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bendemeer Mariners FC the free kick. In the 93rd minute Firdauz Keng managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zack Hong got free with Joel Tioe in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bendemeer Mariners FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
