Asiz Wenyong kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Lion City Sailors's Asiz Wenyong got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sajeev Hui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Alif Abdul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ken FC's Farhan Politiek got a free kick in the 18th minute. Gabriel Mathews kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Lion City Sailors's Noh Hui tried to score from far away in the 22nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Alif Abdul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sajeev Hui in the 23rd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Sajeev Hui lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Alif Abdul. After having played for 29 minutes, Sajeev Hui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ken FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sajeev Hui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sajeev Hui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ang Paine's late challenge caught a Ken FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ang Paine helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Lion City Sailors:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ken FC:s goal. In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Ken FC. Danish Lee stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alif Abdul. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sajeev Hui to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Ken FC got a freekick which was hit by Fariz Ning. Noh Hui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 57 played minutes Lion City Sailors got a freekick which was hit by Noh Hui. Dale Hong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Famih Chuan having to interfere. Noh Hui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute Jithu Tan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Famih Chuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Noh Hui sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jithu Tan in the 71st minute of play forced Ken FC's goalkeeper Famih Chuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Lion City Sailors's goal looked a bit too open when Sajeev Hui came free, but Alif Abdul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shahiran Swee got free with Famih Chuan in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Dale Hong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Jithu Tan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lion City Sailors's supporters rose to their feet, but Jithu Tan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Famih Chuan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sean Tian's late challenge caught a Lion City Sailors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sean Tian helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lion City Sailors booed when Ken FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sean Tian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Famih Chuan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 89 minutes into the match, Lion City Sailors's goal looked a bit too open when Sajeev Hui came free, but Alif Abdul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st match minute, Ken FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Tian to maneuver through the defense.
