With an extended leg and a bit of luck Khai Lee prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nicholas Dhanabalan struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Khai Lee didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Geadling. Arif Laycock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Khai Lee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arif Laycock in the 10th minute of the match. Nicholas Dhanabalan struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Geadling's Amirul Hsin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faris Lee in the 13th minute of play. Khairil Vijiaratnam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amirul Hsin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Faris Lee's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Faris Lee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Amirul Hsin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicholas Dhanabalan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Khai Lee having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Geadling's zone, Khairil Vijiaratnam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amirul Hsin came out of the goal and Khairil Vijiaratnam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Khairil Vijiaratnam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Amirul Hsin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faris Lee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Sarb Wenyong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Khairil Vijiaratnam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Faris Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Waterfoot's Faris Lee got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amirul Hsin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Faris Lee showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 48 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When Faris Lee came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Waterfoot fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faris Lee couldn't finish the play. In the 57thth minute of the game Faris Lee who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Geadling's Amirul Hsin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 63 minutes into the game, Arif Laycock lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Khai Lee. Albert Yi-Sheng hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute of the match Jerry Tuan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Khai Lee showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 70 minutes, Khairil Vijiaratnam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Waterfoot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Khairil Vijiaratnam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicholas Dhanabalan in the 79th minute of play forced Waterfoot's goalkeeper Khai Lee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Khai Lee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Dhanabalan in the 80th minute of play. Khairil Vijiaratnam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amirul Hsin having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Khairil Vijiaratnam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waterfoot's supporters rose to their feet, but Khairil Vijiaratnam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amirul Hsin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
