When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Jonathan Chandran put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Khai Dhanabalan. Khai Dhanabalan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prime Paine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Chandran struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Khai Dhanabalan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toa Payoh Town. Rifki Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haziq Hee in the 15th minute of the match. Khai Dhanabalan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prime Paine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the game, Zak Yi-Sheng was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dartsmouth United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Toa Payoh Town the free kick. In the 18th minute, Zak Yi-Sheng hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Khai Dhanabalan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonathan Chandran's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute, Jonathan Chandran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Khai Dhanabalan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 26 minutes into the game, Ronn Hoe recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rifki Lim. Ronn Hoe showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Jonathan Chandran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Toa Payoh Town's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathan Chandran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Khai Dhanabalan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Chandran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Khai Dhanabalan having to interfere. Dartsmouth United's Khai Dhanabalan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Chandran in the 42nd minute of play. In the 48th minute Jonathan Chandran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khai Dhanabalan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Khai Dhanabalan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prime Paine, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Khai Dhanabalan was a little too slow when Jonathan Chandran got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 1-4. 74 minutes into the game, Victor Hian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dartsmouth United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Toa Payoh Town the free kick. Victor Hian hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Khai Dhanabalan made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Jonathan Chandran sent off a good shot on target. When Jonathan Chandran came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Toa Payoh Town fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Chandran couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Chandran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Khai Dhanabalan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Prime Paine dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Khai Dhanabalan, 1-5. Khai Dhanabalan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prime Paine in the 89th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Chandran got free with Khai Dhanabalan in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Chandran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Toa Payoh Town's Afiz Siang got a free kick in the 94th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Toa Payoh Town had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
