Dian Barus's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Kia Priyatno skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Lubuklopian's Elliot Alderson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andra Fitriansyah in the 26th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Lubuklopian got a freekick which was hit by Steve Dewa. In the 30th match minute, Negeri Selangor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taufik Waluyo to maneuver through the defense. Dian Barus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the last second Kia Priyatno throw himself and got hold of the ball when Porman Barus in the 33rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 34 minutes into the game, Dian Barus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lubuklopian's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Negeri Selangor the free kick. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elliot Alderson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fery Kaban in the 64th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Negeri Selangor's goal looked a bit too open when Porman Barus came free, but Kia Priyatno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
