The audience thought a goal was coming when 何勇杰 got free with 魏光鹰 in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the 山东泰山 defense, 卓城锋 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 曲天昆. The 山东泰山 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 曲天昆 should have stopped the shot. 68 minutes into the match, 山东泰山's goal looked a bit too open when 方洋轩 came free, but 曲天昆 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 曲天昆 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 方洋轩, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 曲天昆 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 曹文昆 in the 72nd minute of play. If 何勇杰 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute.
