In the 9th minute, Nero Tucknott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Edgar Featon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garema's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Featon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ren Bonham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgar Featon in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ren Bonham prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlton Mcmanamny's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rusty Spurr read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiger Turnbull in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ren Bonham prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41stth minute of the game Edgar Featon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sydney FC's Ren Bonham was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Brown Kiel shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Sydney FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Edgar Featon scored to the left of an out of position Ren Bonham, making the score, 0-2. Edgar Featon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ren Bonham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiger Turnbull blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ren Bonham having to make a save. Edgar Featon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ren Bonham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ren Bonham made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgar Featon in the 64th minute. Sydney FC's Ren Bonham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Featon in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Featon in the 67th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Ren Bonham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Garema's Earnest Maslin got a free kick in the 71st minute. Brown Kiel shot from long distance in the 77th minute, but Ren Bonham was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Edgar Featon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute Edgar Featon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ren Bonham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Nero Tucknott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgar Featon in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ren Bonham saved Sydney FC from getting behind. After having played for 88 minutes, Tiger Turnbull managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garema's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiger Turnbull was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Garema's Tiger Turnbull slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ren Bonham. That made the score 0-3 after 89 minutes of play. 95 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goalkeeper Ren Bonham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiger Turnbull. The audience thought a goal was coming when Earnest Maslin got free with Ren Bonham in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Garema's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
