In the 14th minute, Edgar Ceney left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Charlton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Kathmandu Academy's Brent Moorby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ren Atterton in the 19th minute of play. Dani Fenwick charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dani Fenwick the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dani Fenwick kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgar Ceney got free with Brent Moorby in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ren Atterton in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brent Moorby, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Pierre Markou fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Charlton's protests and gave Pierre Markou a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kathmandu Academy booed when Charlton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierre Markou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ringo Kinsey took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bruno Arkinstall. Charlton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benney Lowes in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Arkinstall prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ren Atterton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Ren Atterton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brent Moorby was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ren Atterton in the 41st minute of play forced Kathmandu Academy's goalkeeper Brent Moorby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alan Rummens's late challenge caught a Charlton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 66th minute Pierre Markou suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Barnard Kennedy was shown his second yellow card after 66 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Kathmandu Academy getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Barnard Kennedy hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Charlton's Dani Fenwick got a free kick in the 69th minute. Howie Didlock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Arkinstall having to interfere. If Edgar Ceney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Charlton's Edgar Ceney got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ren Atterton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the game, Edgar Ceney cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Brent Moorby was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgar Ceney in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. Brent Moorby came out of the goal and Darley Wittber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darley Wittber in the 90th minute of play forced Kathmandu Academy's goalkeeper Brent Moorby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute, Dani Fenwick got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jason Berresford hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Edgar Ceney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Brent Moorby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Darley Wittber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kathmandu Academy's Benney Lowes got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Charlton's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
