Quaama's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Payne Roach 3 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 6th minute, one of Quaama:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Quaama. Nichol Millgate shot the penalty kick right outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Payne Roach in the 10th minute of play forced Quaama's goalkeeper Thomas Triplett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute Payne Roach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Triplett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Birrell Mitchell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Thomas Triplett made a huge save. 21 minutes into the game, Quaama's Howie Muddle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Burns Deal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Howie Muddle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Triplett made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Birrell Mitchell sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

After 54 played minutes, Hawthorn FC's Kent Balaam shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thomas Triplett came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hawthorn FC reached it. Payne Roach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Thomas Triplett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Byrne Bacon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burns Deal having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Byrne Bacon in the 64th minute of play forced Hawthorn FC's goalkeeper Burns Deal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hawthorn FC's Burns Deal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Howie Muddle in the 65th minute of play. When Byrne Bacon fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quaama's protests and gave Byrne Bacon a yellow card for diving instead. Birrell Mitchell took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thomas Triplett. Thomas Triplett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 77th minute of the match Nichol Millgate shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thomas Triplett showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Quaama defense, Birrell Mitchell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thomas Triplett. The Quaama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomas Triplett should have stopped the shot. Luck Day sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 84 minutes, Payne Roach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hawthorn FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Payne Roach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 84 minutes, Nichol Millgate mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hawthorn FC and the Quaama players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Quaama booed when Hawthorn FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nichol Millgate didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brown Mcwilliam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Howie Muddle during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 96th minute, Iggi Bowie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
